A beautiful sunset down near the river by my house. A cool breeze and a little chilly but just watching that sun is breath taking! Another ending and a fresh start tomorrow! :)
Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount
up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will
walk and not become weary."

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."

Longing to be loved
I've been sitting at my computer for awhile trying to figure out what to write for a new post and not much has come to my mind....
Today i did watch some little boys at our church while a Bible study was going on for there moms. Well as the afternoon went on i made two little buddies who cried every time i got up because they thought i was leaving. It was so cute. Anyways i was talking with another person who was in there and she's like all these boys want is to be loved. It's true, none of them wanted all the "new" toys to play with, they just wanted to be held. Found that a lot in the DR too. Kids just want to be loved! They want you to give them praise when they do something right or good.
It's hard to see kids being brought up in broken homes and knowing they are not being "loved" like some other kids. Breaks my heart!
Thinking about this now, it represents us and God. We are the kids and we want to be loved just as much as they do. We want to receive praise as well from our Father. We want to feel His big arms wrapped around us and when we don't we feel lost. Here's the thing, God is always standing right next to us! He never leaves our side and will always be waiting with open arms in times of trouble, when we're scared or hurt. He wants to comfort us just like little kids want to be comforted by us. So no matter how old or young we will always have someone who loves us more then we could ever imagine and His name is, Jesus! :)
"...And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them."

Life Changing
How I miss the Dominican! It was such an amazing experience and for sure i'm going back! Already counting the days!
I could go on forever about what we did and everything but it would take so long! I LOVED the kids! As soon as they see you they will run up to you and just grab your hand and not let go! All they want is to be loved! They have so little but their joy is so great! They have the one important thing that truly matters and it's Jesus! Most of them didn't even have shoes on their little feet and they were filthy but they always had a smile on there face.
God really showed me that i have SO much to be thankful for. I have a family, a house to live in that's not a shack, shoes on my feet, and food to eat. All those things that most of the kids don't have. It's heartbreaking... :( We need to be more content and thankful for what we have! Think about this for a second. If you lost everything except the clothes that you were wearing would you be happy? Would you still be joyful? I know it wouldn't be easy but i think of all this kids the struggle each day to get up in the morning cuz they are not getting enough food.
It was hard in many ways but such a blessing! We visited two different public high school and we talked to them about purity and shared the Gospel with them. We visited them for two days and on the 2nd day at the one school the kids did something pretty amazing. It was recess for about 10-15 minutes and about 15 kids gathered in the back of the school where we were. We found out that on recess every day the Christian of the school meet in the back and will share some verses and pray together! How awesome is that?!?! One of the teachers shared a few verses and after he finished all the students formed a circles and prayed! We joined them too so i don't have any pictures of it but i'll always remember it. It was just a amazing time standing around praying for almost 10 minutes! Such a special time!
One of the days we visited a nursing home which was very hard.... :/ I didn't do much with the older people but instead colored with some kids. A couple of kids saw that we were coloring so they ran and got a bunch more kids from the village to join us. We had like 20 kids coloring! They loved it and there faces just lit up! It was lots of fun!
I could keep going on and on like i said but i'll add some pictures to this! :)

Faith and Trusting God
I was reading in my Bible about faith and trusting God last week and It's kinda stuck with me. I was reading Exodus 4 where God calls Moses to lead the people out of Egypt and also Matthew 14:25-33, when Jesus tells Peter to walk on the water. Both guys had little faith and doubted what God could do. Starting with Moses in verse 10, he asks God to send someone else, because he is slow to speak, so probably stuttering. God replies to Moses saying
“Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the LORD? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say."
Moses but again says,
"But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”
Moses really did not want to do this. I know in my life I've said, no i can't do this, let someone else. Why do we doubt such an amazing God? He will never have us do more then we can do, and when we think it's too much we turn to Him for more strength!
It says that God was getting angry at Moses because he wasn't listening and trusting that he could do this. Aaron then comes into the picture to help Moses and speak to the people. In chapter 6 the people aren't listening to Moses and he starts to doubt God again. Verses 9-12 say:
"Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor.
Then the LORD said to Moses, “Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his country.”
But Moses said to the LORD, “If the Israelites will not listen to me, why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I speak with faltering lips"
Then again Moses asks God the same thing in verse 28-30.
Now when the LORD spoke to Moses in Egypt, 29 he said to him, “I am the LORD. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I tell you.”
30 But Moses said to the LORD, “Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?"
Poor Moses he had such little faith! We know that in the rest of Exodus he does lead the people out of Egypt and the commandments are written! We see that in the Bible God uses people who don't seem like they could do the job. So many of them had little faith but God used them in many ways!!!!
Now on to Peter in Matthew 14:25 -33. The disciples are in a boat and they see someone in the distance on the water and they think it's a ghost. I think it's rather funny they would think that back then. Anyways, here are the short verses for this story:
But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”
Peter starts walking out on the water but gets scared and yells to Jesus to save him. Jesus saves him and asks him why he doubts. I think we all have our Peter and Moses moments. When God calls us to do something we tend to try and change Gods mind and tell Him to find someone else. God has called each of us for a reason even though we may not know it. Have faith and don't doubt God! He knows what He's doing!
"...If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
~Matthew 17:20
