"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."

Faith and Trusting God

I was reading in my Bible about faith and trusting God last week and It's kinda stuck with me. I was reading Exodus 4 where God calls Moses to lead the people out of Egypt and also Matthew 14:25-33, when Jesus tells Peter to walk on the water. Both guys had little faith and doubted what God could  do. Starting with Moses in verse 10, he asks God to send someone else, because he is slow to speak, so probably stuttering. God replies to Moses saying
“Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the LORD? 12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say."
Moses but again says,
"But Moses said, “Pardon your servant, Lord. Please send someone else.”
Moses really did not want to do this. I know in my life I've said, no i can't do this, let someone else. Why do we doubt such an amazing God? He will never have us do more then we can do, and when we think it's too much we turn to Him for more strength!
It says that God was getting angry at Moses because he wasn't listening and trusting that he could do this. Aaron then comes into the picture to help Moses and speak to the people. In chapter 6 the people aren't listening to Moses and he starts to doubt God again. Verses 9-12 say:
"Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and harsh labor.
Then the LORD said to Moses,  “Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his country.”

But Moses said to the LORD, “If the Israelites will not listen to me, why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I speak with faltering lips"

Then again Moses asks God the same thing in verse 28-30.

Now when the LORD spoke to Moses in Egypt, 29 he said to him, “I am the LORD. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I tell you.”
30 But Moses said to the LORD, “Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?"

Poor Moses he had such little faith! We know that in the rest of Exodus he does lead the people out of Egypt and the commandments are written! We see that in the Bible God uses people who don't seem like they could do the job. So many of them had little faith but God used them in many ways!!!!

Now on to Peter in Matthew 14:25 -33. The disciples are in a boat and they see someone in the distance on the water and they think it's a ghost. I think it's rather funny they would think that back then. Anyways, here are the short verses for this story:

But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.”
28 “Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.”
   29 “Come,” he said.
Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!”
31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”
32 And when they climbed into the boat, the wind died down. 33 Then those who were in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

Peter starts walking out on the water but gets scared and yells to Jesus to save him. Jesus saves him and asks him why he doubts. I think we all have our Peter and Moses moments. When God calls us to do something we tend to try and change Gods mind and tell Him to find someone else. God has called each of us for a reason even though we may not know it. Have faith and don't doubt God! He knows what He's doing!

"...If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.”
~Matthew 17:20

Gods amazing creation!

Our first "real" snow!

The last signs of summer fading away in the cold

After the rain the flower held the water

These are just a few of the pictures i've taken over the summer and fall. Sunsets are my favorite then flowers close up. Everything in God's creation just amazes me! I love looking up at the sky at night and just watching the stars and the moon thinking that one person created all this and it just shows how much He really loves us!
"There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory."

The Superbowl, is it worth it?

I'm sure you watched or are watching the Superbowl. I am not! I don't know anything about football. All i know is that you jump all over people and need a touch down to win. That's all i need to know right?? lol:)

I just think it's crazy that people put so much into this. They spend billions of dollars for something that's pretty much ridiculous to me. Yes, it's fun and i'm not saying it's bad but like they spend all this money and worrying about which team will win and tons of people are wanting warm clothes and food to eat. Something that just bugs me. All these people gather around to watch this game and spend loads of money on their tickets. What would happen if all that money from these tickets was given to other countries who have nothing?? Can you imagine how many people we could feed and buy supplies for? It's crazy! Last year it says that 103,219 people attended the Superbowl and that doesn't even include the other of millions of people who watch it at home. Crazy stuff! If Jesus was with us now, would He be happy with all this? I kinda think He wouldn't. Then you have the commercials. Really? Most of them aren't good and just plain stupid. But over 80% of the people watch the game just to see the commercials. People come on! We can do better here! The media is trying to draw us in and it's working which is so sad!

I heard something on the radio about Jesus and the Superbowl but i don't remember it exactly. I'm hoping they will play it again soon so i can write it down then post it. But i know it was saying how Jesus won the biggest Superbowl of all. He made a huge scene (healing and preaching) and won over the lives of many! I'd say im voting for His team cuz He will never lose! We face a battle every day and i want to stay on the winning side and defeat the bad team! Whose with me??? :)

This verse has really nothing to do with what i've said above but it's my favorite verse for today.

"Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the LORD:
   He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him."
~ Psalm 91:1-2

Just love that verse :)

LOVE

Love

Love is such a powerful word in many ways! I feel like today people toss around the words "I love you" too easily. Of course it's easy to say it to your family and close friends but I'm talking about guy and girl "I love you." I hear 13 year old's say they love each other and can't live without them. It's crazy! They should be focusing on so much more, like not worrying about a boyfriend but that's what today's world is telling them! We shouldn't let them get caught up in this. There is a difference between, liking and love. Love is from heart and like is from mind.Every girls thinks they need a boyfriend to "fit in" but girls you don't! I've struggled with this yes, being almost 18 and not ever having a boyfriend sounds crazy to most people. lol Saving my first kiss till im engaged/married is also crazy to some people! You don't need a guy in your life! Enjoy being single!!!!!!!!!!

We have a pretty awesome guy who loves us SOOOO much and He will never give you a broken heart or leave your side! He paid a HUGE price for you and it wasn't just carrying your books, He died for you! His love is unconditional and no matter what we do, He will not love us any less! Now that's my kind of guy! :) Whenever you feel lonely and wanting a boyfriend, spend time with God. He's the best company you can get! You can poor your heart out to Him and He's listening every minute! He will bring your Prince Charming (that's what i like to call him) into your life when the timing is right! Be patient as hard as it might be! It will be worth it in the end and your Prince will be a pretty blessed guy to have such an amazing girl like you in his life! :)

"A girls heart should be so hidden in God that a guy has to seek Him just to find her."

Focus on God now and guys later! Makes life soooo much easier trust me! God is the best boyfriend you can have! <33

"Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance."
~1 Corinthians 13:7 <33
