"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you."

Be Still in a Crazy World

I wrote this devotional for school a couple of days ago and really it spoke to me while i was writing it. Like God took control of my hand and wrote it just for me! I hope it speaks to you guys as well!

“Be still, and know that I am God.”
~Psalm 46:10

To be still seems like a very difficult thing to do these days, since everyone is always on the move. When was the last time this week that you were just quiet or still? Probably not enough times to count on both hands. We get so caught up in our everyday lives that we never think to “be still.”

God wants us to talk with Him and spend time in His presence. He is our best friend, so we should want to talk to Him. Talking with God should be like texting, for example. We are in constant communication with our friends through texting or talking on the phone. It’s so easy to do and we do it without even thinking about it half the time. Why can’t talking with God be that easy? We could just send a “text” up to God and it’s something we shouldn’t have to think about.

When we are still before the Lord, He can work in our life in ways we may not know of. Taking time out of our day to be still can be a challenge. We get up each day and get ready for either work or school. What happened to our time with God? We put Him on the back burner to save for later if we get around to it. At the end of our day, we are too tired to move Him to the front burner, so He stays in the back. Each morning, we should take time to be still because that time with God is like our morning coffee. God gives us the strength to make it through the day. Let’s make it our goal to be still and take time to put God first. After all, He is most important in our life.

What a christain guy is and isn't looking for in a girl

I LOVE this so much! Girls be yourself and become a woman of God! This was written by Caleb Grimm from Anthem Lights (one of my favorite bands):

""It would be foolish of me to try to speak for the entire male gender, so I'm not gonna try. I AM gonna go ahead and speak for myself and other good, stand-up Christian fellas out there though... because I'm fairly certain they'll agree with or at least relate to the following thoughts. I am also going to assume most of you reading this are female, because... let's be honest... if your here, you clicked on a blog about 'what guys are looking for.' There could just as well be a blog about what girls are looking for, but I'm not the person to write that one (maybe YOU are.) That said here are some things that go through our oblivious, but occasionally-observant male minds.
 What we're not looking for...
Essentially, everything that a guy finds unattractive in a girl is rooted to one thing. Insecurity.
When a girl is self-involved, speaks highly of herself, and puts others down to make herself feel better... its probably because she is insecure.
When a girl is constantly putting herself down, making self-deprecating comments, and lacking self-confidence... its probably because she is insecure.
When a girl acts provocatively, says anything to get attention, and dresses to turn heads... its probably because she is insecure.
When a girl is clingy, needy, desperate, and assumes the worst... its probably because she is insecure.
When a girl has poor self-image, doesn't think she's pretty, and the way she presents herself doesn't reflect how God views her... Its probably because she is insecure.
See a pattern? Of course, no one will ever be perfect, and we all have struggles (us guys have our fair share of insecurity issues, trust me.) Regardless of male or female, nearly every word and action can be traced back to how we view ourselves.
  What we're looking for...
A girl who knows who she is. The only way a girl can know who she is, is to understand how God sees her...
 How does God see you?
He created you.
"For we are God's masterpiece." (Eph. 2:10)
He knows you.
"Before I formed you in the womb I knew you." (Jer. 1:5)
He loves you.
"As the Father has loved Me, so I have loved you. Now remain in My love." (John 15:9)
He thinks your beautiful.
"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine cloths. Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight." (1 Peter 3:3-4)
No seriously, He thinks you beautiful.
"I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful. I know that full well." (Psalm 139:14)
He gave His life for you.
"While we we're still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)
He's there for you.
"The Lord is near to all who call on Him." (Psalm 145:18)
He has plans for you.
"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for good and not evil, to give you hope and a future." (Jer. 29:11) *my FAVORITE verse!!*
This is how God sees you. He sees a heart that He created and longs to have a divine relationship with you through Jesus. A person who has embraced that relationship and can grasp how valuable the heavenly Father says they are, is a person who can share a healthy, earthly relationship... and thats what the good guys are looking for.
A girl who understands how she's viewed in the Lord's eyes, can be irresistible to a guy whose eyes are on the Lord."" -Caleb Grimm, Anthem Lights

Spring time

Spring is slowly coming at last! I feel like we had no winter at all, guess it's the lack of snow we got.... I've been in a flowery mood so i changed my blog up a little bit. Went to my grandmas today to take some pictures of this gorgeous tree down the street from her house. It was full of white flowers and it smelled so good! Then got some pictures of some frogs from a pond, along with some baby fox pictures my brother took for me this morning. Got to see a little bit of everything today! Always amazing me, that God created all this! His works are amazing and sometimes i think we forget. Take time just to soak up Gods creation and He shows us so much!
He's so cute!

His eyes are so cute!

Gods love shines down on us <3

You are fearfully & wonderfully made

The title says it all! You are beautiful inside and out!!! Girls and even guys too think they need to look a certain way to be accepted or measure up to today's world but guess what, you don't! God made you perfect and no matter what people say, you are beautiful!!!! You don't have to be super skinny, you don't have to have certain color hair or eyes, because God loves you and He created you!
Don't forget that! You are beautiful! <3

"I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well."
~Psalms 139:14
